            It can totally happen. If you’re strident enough and your goals are high on a lofty perch, perhaps even unattainable, you can lose your frigging mind.

            The process of achievement is grinding. There’s no way around it—certain things will get you down. In whatever you do, you want to be well received. But here’s the thing; you can’t really know exactly what another person’s thinking. So try to make people happy and do good work, but ultimately, don’t drive yourself into hysterics trying to predict every conceivable opinion people might have about you or what you are doing.

            Our brains are great and terrible things. It’s weird that we don’t understand the things that are just parts of us. Like we’re all going around, pretending to know what we’re about, but we can’t even tell someone what our pancreas is “about.” Here’s my point: if you can’t know your own pancreas, stop with other people’s brains.

            Put that in the old pipe and smoke it.

            Sorry, that bravado was feigned. I’m feeling insecure after using “pancreas” twice in one post.
