About Out There
Post 122:
I had an interesting last 48 hours. Me and a couple dudes drove to Philly and did a gig for some college kids then came back. I’m just getting home. A hard turnaround considering the distance, but it was a good change. Tons of conversations that I never would’ve had… you get the picture.
But it wasn’t just the company, though that certainly is key. Putting yourself about is an important part of life, a part that I’m often deficient in. Occasional sloth is okay, I think, but getting on your bike and doing new things is of paramount importance if you want the full experience that is required to be a well-rounded passer-on of life to the next person.
I don’t mean to imply that this was the Odyssey. There was no grand showdown with the Cyclops to talk about, no epic ending to the tale. Mostly just a lot of jokes that can’t be repeated on the internet, some cash made, fun times.
There were moments when I felt the pull of my new book tugging on me, like every minute away from my primary work is a moment wasted. Work-centric people probably get like this, but let's be honest, the occasional change of scenery can’t be anything but salubrious to your brain.
Take a minute away. There’s only everything to miss.
See you after.
