            There is nothing crazy about wishing the impediments would go away. Impediments? I’m talking about the roadblocks, stumbling blocks, other blocks that I can’t think of.

            Days come when it seems that all of life is one intricately planned, cosmically-ordained impediment to where I want to go or what I want to be.

            Is this true? Absolutely not. Only a totally wacked-out narcissist would even stretch his/her cerebellum into such dreadfully dull waters.

            But…it’s a little true.

            True that life is set up in opposition to most of what we want—it’s just that the rule doesn’t only apply to me or you.

            We’re all climbing the same wall. There’s a few cracks between the rocks to get your fingers in, but there will be blood. If you’re strong or crazy or lucky enough to ascend to the top, all it takes is one slip.

            Couple of positives.

            There isn’t a real wall, so intense physical activity isn’t actually required. Unless you count sitting and thinking. If that were true, I’d have sweet abs.

            Another thing. There’s a wall for a reason. If anyone could just wander into awesome land, it wouldn’t be awesome. It would just be land.

            One more thing. Falling down doesn’t mean you can’t start over. I do it all the time. I list starting over as my primary occupation on my taxes.
