About A Couple Things

            Always be working on more than one thing. I’m running into landmines trying to put out a novel that I wrote over a year ago, and it would literally drive me crazy (and still kind of does) if it was the only thing on my mind.

            Yeah, it’s good to have a life, but we put so much of ourselves into our work, it’s a hazy line.

            This is why you need multiple things going—especially if you’re doing your own publishing. It’s so much responsibility. Mistakes seem to grind the entire world to a stop, whether they’re made by you or someone on the other side of things.

            It sucks to find something you’ve gone over with painstaking scrutiny isn’t perfect. We want the best for the readers. That’s a big part of it. Another part is knowing that we’re screw-ups.

            Another part is wanting to write the next great story and having life tell you it’s not happening tomorrow.

            It’s like waking up and thinking it’s Christmas, only to find out somebody switched the calendar on you.

            And that would suck.

            So does this. But there’s always Christmas… eventually.
