About Drug Shows (The Waterfront)
Post 1805:
I like drug shows. Not sure what that says about me. I don’t use illegal drugs. Except when I want to party. Right!?
No really, I stick to the legal stuff. Boring!
Anyway, drugs are bad. But some of these shows are great. Let me go from best and smartest to not best and not smartest. First, you got your Breaking Bad. Hard not to see the greatness. Funny, intense, clever, quirky, power fantasy, tension, etc. One of the great shows. Second, and not far behind, I’m going with Narcos. It’s so easy to get wrapped in, and the fact that it’s broadly telling true stories is crazy and always in the back of your mind. Third, you got Ozark. Very tense, though sometimes the constant ridiculous damage control would get to me. And it was hard to root for anyone at times. Not great. But good.
So somehow I watched The Waterfront. It’s very popular on Netflix right now. It looks like it had a decent budget and they had equipment and some well-known actors.
It’s not boring. Things happen. People argue. But it doesn’t seem real. There are good performances and moments. But it’s pretty stupid. There’s a quirky guy that is supposed to be running a big drug operation—he’s a good example of stupid. It’s a cartoon. But there is action and people get threatened and there’s more arguing and violence.
This is an expensive, cheap drug show. If it were drugs, it wouldn't be very druggy and I’d report my drug person to the local better business bureau. It’s downright criminal what some people think they can get away with.
Just say no. Cheers and see you after.
