Tyler Has Words is the blog of Tyler Patrick Wood, a writer/musician from Texas. You'll get free book excerpts twice a week. On the other days, you'll get words. If you would like an original take on everything by an expert on nothing, this might be a cool place to hang out.

About Good Enough to Change

About Good Enough to Change

Post 1915:

I’m reading an award-winning novel right now. It was written by a man, which is a minor miracle. There’s about four male authors left in the world not writing about Special Forces. So that’s good…

I have to admit, I’m jealous. The writing is literary but there’s still a story. It happens, of course, but lately no one seems into promoting this type of work. But I guess that’s over. Writer Man has conquered the highest mountain and managed to be entertaining and artistic at the same time. He’s the one. I should quit now.

I say that, but then I see at the front that he has a cadre of editors. Like seriously, a bunch. And a managing editor. It’s like the New York Frigging Times. All women, these editors of course, not that that matters.

Not going to sit here typing like a jerk, wishing I didn’t have a traditional publishing deal. I would love to finally be recognized for my words so that they can take my words and edit them until they are something that a group of (not necessarily women) will like.

I’m jealous, because it’s probably hilarious to pour your heart into something and be told it’s good enough to fundamentally change.

Joking, of course. People want it unvarnished these days. No filter. The real deal, no holds barred. Stripped down to the studs. People want essence. The rudiments.

People want honesty. That’s why there’s such an uptick in integrity and forthrightness these days. Trust me…

Cheers and see you after.
